We’ve all heard the tragedies of Soviet Romance, be it in novels or in real life. Caution to the beauty that intoxicates men with the trap of a Siberian heart. And yet we find it all so common with the Russian Matryoshkas and their victims.
In comes this tale of Soviet Romance with all its glory, set in a Bahraini backdrop, an exaggerated epic, with stubborn love, torment, burning jealousy, and a Russian Blizzard.

Acclimatized to our surrounding environment, it is easy to fail recognition of our settings to what they are. Partially due to scale, and partly to do with an absurd arrogance towards our existence. It took generations of root knowledge to realize the basics of life; that which we still struggle to master and understand. With revelations so obvious that when realized we are dumbfounded by the simplicity of fact, and amazed at the complexity it creates.

In our history, is a time of wonder that I was fortunate to witness. Arabia, was as it is today, in its usual manner of upheaval and unrest. Yet somehow with a bit of will, we managed to achieve moments of pride. We nurtured scholars, inventors, and poets. We were builders that secured water for our land and bridged our nations. We hung gardens from stone, and built mountains in the sand, but the one I lived to see, was us going to space.

In comfort, we ride aluminum tubes and strap ourselves for what is essentially a magic carpet ride. If observed from afar, these birds seem autonomous and mindfully intelligent. Curiously, the reality holds more wonder, than fiction can create.

Some of the the most unpleasant words in any language tend to be small with barely a grouping of 3-4 letters. Harshest of all is a word that needs no introduction or translation. The mere pronunciation of the word indicates its dismissive and decisive stance. Vocal stresses are transmitted to be perceived as a physical thump to the listening mind.

I am struck with oddity of what memories we carry from our childhood. The significance of "the now" insignificant, and moreover the innocent mind to which the tongue is expressed from. Funny how somethings make us feel, simply because we encountered them as children. Revelations with beautiful insights to memories of long ago.
